my approach to counseling

We might seek counseling to heal from trauma(s), to address self-doubt, to explore feelings of loneliness, hopelessness, depression, anxiety, to understand limitations in pursuit of contentment, to build communication and other relationship skills, or for a variety of other reasons. I recognize that trying to find a path toward healing can feel confusing, overwhelming, intimidating and that it can be difficult to know where to begin.

I believe the most important place to begin counseling is in building the therapeutic relationship. With this in mind, I work with clients to create an authentic relationship built with care and collaboration. I do not subscribe to the hierarchical structure present in many helping professions and instead view the client(s) as the expert in their lives, even if to them it may not feel that they are because of their lived experiences.

My approach is rooted in a relational framework. I incorporate the parts work of Internal Family Systems and externalization central to narrative therapy with a person-centered and psychodynamic approach. Ultimately, my approach is eclectic in that I believe that there is not a single approach that works for every person.

I offer Telehealth and in-person appointments for folx throughout the state of Oklahoma.

My rate starts at $120 per session.

I have a few spots that are sliding scale, so please still reach out and I will try to work something out when possible based on my availability.
