cat approaches the counseling process as a collaborative relationship for client self-discovery, empowerment, and healing using curiosity & creativity to make space for each person, their unique stories, & their ways of being.

Identity

I recognize that our identities are influenced by various systems, including family, community, and society. I strive to assist clients in navigating the complexities of these systems, addressing the impact of systemic oppression, discrimination, and social constructs on their identity(ies) so clients can feel confident in identifying and living as their most authentic self.

I approach identity work from relational and psychodynamic perspectives, incorporating aspects of Internal Family Systems and narrative therapy, though I am eclectic in my approach based on client needs.

Relationships

Communication is at the core of successful relationships. Through my work, I assist clients in developing effective communication skills, fostering the development of empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution techniques. By enhancing communication, individuals in partnered relationships can express their needs, emotions, and concerns in a constructive manner, leading to deeper understanding and respect.

I approach partnered relationship work from a systems perspective using a relational approach. My practice is BDSM/Kink, Non-monogamy, sex worker, and 2SLGBTQIPA+ affirming.

Neurodiversity

As a ND-informed, affirming, and identifying therapist, my goal is to help clients embrace their ND identities, build resilience, and develop strategies to navigate this world in a way that works for them. I am passionate about promoting ND acceptance and advocating for the rights and well-being of ND individuals in all aspects of life.

I am committed to staying informed about the latest research, advancements, and best practices which allows me to provide evidence-based interventions and strategies tailored to the specific needs of each individual. I primarily work with ASD, ADHD, and OCD.
