Cat Bishop (she/they), M.Ed. Licensed Professional Counseling Candidate

about me

I started my own healing journey years ago while working as a research scientist (my career for over 15 years). As I continued learning more about myself, my desires, my ways of being in the world, my more authentic self, I also found myself drawn to a career in counseling.

I received my M.Ed. in Clinical Professional Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 2023. During internship and early candidacy I completed an Internal Family Systems (IFS) intensive with Brandt Ratcliff, Grief Counseling Training with Calm Waters, and Eating Disorder Courses with the Renfrew Center including Neurodivergence and Eating Disorder considerations for Care as well as Evidence Based Principles and Trauma-Informed Treatment of Co-Occurring BPD and Eating Disorders. Additionally, I have completed multiple trainings with Oklahoma Sex and Relationship Institute covering topics including BDSM/Kink-Affirming Counseling, Relational Trauma and the Impact of Abuse on the Therapeutic Relationship, and Attachment Theory and Nonmonogamy.

I specialize in working with partnered relationships, trauma, identity(ies) exploration, neuorodivergent experiences, grief, mood disorders, and life adjustments using a relational and psychodynamic approach while incorporating aspects of IFS, narrative therapies, and other modalities to help clients find trust and comfort in themselves and their relationships.

I currently practice on occupied GΓ‘uigΓΊ (Kiowa), Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), O-ga-xpa (Quapaw), Wichita, and 𐓏𐒰𐓓𐒰𐓓𐒷 π’Όπ“‚π“Šπ’» 𐓆𐒻𐒿𐒷 𐓀𐒰^𐓓𐒰^ (Osage) land.
